Intelligent Design of Coatings for Corrosion Protection
Dawei Zhang, University of Science and Technology Beijing
Abstract
Advanced organic coatings with active protective and self-healing properties have received considerable research interest due to their robust corrosion protection performance in harsh service environments. However, conventional trial-and-error strategies for designing and optimizing these intricate coating systems are time-consuming and labor-intensive. This talk focuses the application of intelligent technologies including discriminative/generative models, high-throughput automated experiments and their integration to accelerate the discovery of active protective and self-healing coatings out of vast compositional spaces. Beyond that, corrosion sensors and machine learning are leveraged to understand and predict coating performance in simulated/real service environments.
